How NAPAS handles the information you share with us, and the limits of what we collect.
Who we are
The National Association for the Prevention of Attorney Suicide (“NAPAS,” “we,” “our”) is a non-profit organization based in Dallas, Texas. Our website at stopattorneysuicide.org provides research, education, and outreach related to attorney mental health. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site or contact us, and how we use it.
Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to operate the site and respond to people who reach out to us.
Information you provide. When you submit our contact form or email us, we receive the name, email address, and message content you choose to share. We do not require an account to read the site.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we log basic technical information when pages are requested — IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamps. This information is used to operate and protect the site and is retained for a limited period.
Cookies and analytics. The site uses a small number of cookies necessary for basic operation. We may use a privacy-conscious analytics tool to understand which pages are read and how visitors navigate the site. We do not use advertising trackers or sell visitor data.

Sharing of information
We share information only in limited circumstances:
- Service providers. Hosting, email, and form-handling services that operate the site on our behalf, under contracts that restrict their use of the information.

A note on confidentiality
Messages sent through this site are reviewed by our administrator and forwarded to the relevant board member. NAPAS is a research and education organization — we are not a clinical or crisis service, and communications with us are not protected by clinical confidentiality. If you are in crisis, please contact a local emergency service or your state bar’s Lawyer Assistance Program.
